Education-only disclaimer

Last updated: 14 October 2026

PlainIEP gives general educational information and organizing tools. It is not legal advice. PlainIEP is not a law firm, an attorney or a special-education advocate, and using it doesn't create an attorney-client relationship.

Our checks were written and reviewed for accuracy against the federal IDEA regulations (34 CFR Part 300, mainly sections 300.320 to 300.324), but not by a lawyer. State rules add to these, and your state's rules and official sources control.

Reports are produced with the help of AI and can contain errors. Each item to raise is labelled Documented (stated in, or left blank on, your document) or Interpretation (our reading or a best-practice suggestion). "Not found in the uploaded pages" means we couldn't find something in the text we received; it may still be in the full IEP. Always check against your child's actual IEP.

For free one-to-one help, contact your state's federally funded Parent Training and Information Center. For legal advice, talk to a licensed attorney in your state.
