Terms of Service

1. Who we are
PlainIEP is provided by Thomas Knight, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. Contact: [email protected].
2. What PlainIEP is
PlainIEP is an education and organization tool. It helps parents and guardians understand IEP and 504 documents, prepare questions and draft letters. It is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. Using it doesn't create an attorney-client or advocate relationship. Our checks were written against the federal IDEA regulations, but they have not been reviewed by a lawyer. AI output can be wrong or incomplete, so always check it against the original document.
3. Who can use it
You must be 18 or older and the child's parent or legal guardian, or otherwise authorized to hold and share the documents you upload.
4. Buying a subscription
Subscriptions are sold by Stripe as merchant of record through Stripe Managed Payments; the checkout page and receipts show this as “Sold through Link”, Stripe’s checkout service. Stripe takes payment and handles sales tax, and its consumer terms apply to the purchase. Prices are shown before you pay: $15 per month, renewing monthly, or $129 per year, renewing yearly. Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel.
5. Refunds and cancelling
Full refund within 14 days of your first purchase, no questions asked. Email [email protected] from the email you paid with. You can cancel at any time by emailing us; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.
6. Fair use
A subscription covers your own family's documents, up to 20 analyses a day. Don't share your access, upload documents you're not authorized to share, or try to disrupt the service.
7. Your content
You own what you upload. You let us process it only to produce your report. We don't store it and we don't use it to train AI. See the Privacy Policy.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep PlainIEP available but can't promise it will always be. We may change features. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll update this page and tell current subscribers by email.
9. Liability
The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for decisions made using the reports, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere, you keep the protection of any mandatory consumer laws where you live, and you can bring claims in your local courts.
